PRHP kicks off tunneling on South Bank Drainage Tunnel

In mid-February, work kicked off on the south bank drainage tunnel. This is the first of four tunnels that Peace River Hydro Partners will be building as part of main civil works construction on the Site C Project. This drainage tunnel is a key component of main civil works construction. The drainage tunnel will be used to drain the rock mass to prepare the concrete foundation for the generating station, spillways, and dam buttress.  Work on the drainage tunnel will continue through to fall 2017. You can learn more about the equipment used for tunneling here.
