Peace River Hydro Partners’ 8th Day of “12 Days of Giving”
$4,000 in support of Meals on Wheels and Better at Home programs
Fort St. John — December 8, 2020 — For the eighth day of the “12 Days of Giving” campaign, Peace River Hydro Partners gives $4,000 to the Fort St. John and Area Senior Care Foundation and North Peace Seniors Housing Society in support of the Meals on Wheels and Better at Home Programs. Volunteers provide services such as cooking and delivering fresh meals, light duty cleaning and tidying of residences, and general maintenance to help ease the lives of the elderly.
“We do our best to keep [seniors] active in relation to events and people. The fellowship and togetherness are so vital for their well-being. COVID restrictions have added anxiety and depression which really need to be alleviated, they need to know we care,” writes Patient-Partner Roxanne Chmelyk, a long-time supporter and avid volunteer for the Senior Care Foundation’s Meals on Wheels program.
Peace River Hydro Partners, a joint venture between ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada and Samsung Renewable Energy Inc., holds the Main Civil Works Contract on BC Hydro’s Site C Clean Energy Project.
