South Bank Cofferdam

PRHP completed work on the south bank cofferdam on April 7, 2017. The 1.6 km-long cofferdam has been constructed along the south bank of the Peace River and is a temporary structure that works as a barrier to impede groundwater seepage during construction of the next phase of the project.

South Bank Drainage Tunnel

In mid-February, work kicked off on the south bank drainage tunnel. This is the first of four tunnels that Peace River Hydro Partners will be building as part of main civil works construction on the Site C Project.

Approach Channel

The approach channel is an important component of main civil works construction on the Site C Project. The primary purpose of the approach channel is to divert the Peace River from its current course so it goes around the earthfill dam and towards the powerhouse, where the water will be used to generate electricity.
