How are we doing this?
- PRHP develops and implements detailed environmental protection plans
- Our environmental protection plans meet the stringent requirements set forth by federal and provincial regulators and BC Hydro
- All employees and subcontractors are educated about the specific environmental requirements for each construction activity
- A large team of PRHP’s Environmental Monitors conducts regular inspections of all construction activities and implements immediate corrective actions for any identified problems
- We take great care not to disturb any active bird nests or wildlife dens by doing pre-construction surveys and providing safe buffer areas around each nest or den
- We do not disturb any streams or ponds occupied by fish or amphibians until we are able to collect and relocate these creatures, in strict accordance with the applicable regulatory permit conditions
- PRHP has a robust waste management program, which includes the recycling of products ranging from office paper to oily machine shop rags
