PRHP makes $5,000 donation to Fort St. John Food Bank

Peace River Hydro Partners made a $5,000 donation to the Fort St. John Salvation Army Food Bank to purchase perishable goods as part of United Way’s Adopt A Month Initiative.

This initiative provides funds for the Fort St John Food Bank to purchase perishable basic necessities that are fresh and healthy food items to support clients, and ensure children get the nutrition they desperately need. The initiative aims to raise $5,000 a month to stock the food bank with fresh produce and other perishables to supplement the non-perishable items given out. United Way of Northern British Columbia has calculated that an additional $60,000 per year is needed to help top up the increased demand for basic needs from community members seeking food assistance. Imagine feeding your family for just 5 days on the dry goods in your cupboard, no eggs, milk, meat, fresh vegetables and fruit!

PRHP has signed on for a three-year commitment to support this initiative and donations will follow next year and again in 2018. Giving back to the community we are working in, and many of our employees are living in, is a priority to PRHP.
